Version 1.2 - what now?

Oh no. This.. Was supposed to be released 7 months ago. I just noticed it was only saved as a draft. I will leave everything unchanged and publish it, however, I have come to give a different update. Sorry again, here's the original, unedited post!

After a good amount of time having passed since my last update, I think I owe people a sort of explanation of why it took so long to get here.

Well, first off. Thank you to everyone kind enough to donate. It really means a lot to me to know that what I've  created has value to people. While I don't expect it'll ever pay any bills, as a first sort of commercial project, getting some money for snacks  feels good. It makes me want to give back some more.

Going into this project, I only had in mind to automate some processes of creating color palettes faster. To iterate quickly between approaches that would otherwise take a long time to do by hand. The inability to see what any change would look like in a whole palette always made me reconsider whether I'm wasting my time when I could do the actual art. And by all means, I WAS wasting my time.

If I'm going to be honest, coming back has been hard.  Not because of a lack of interest, but the influx of expectations by others kind enough to give me feedback. I'm not good at dealing with conflict whatsoever. This unfortunately turned attempts to help me into a source of anxiety. Mainly because  I don't understand how proposed changes are improving the tool and on the flipside I don't feel understood with my reasoning why I've made it a certain way.

All that being said, I've set out to improve the tool with peoples problems and ideas in mind.  Beyond that, I want to create the ultimate color gradient helper. This will entail some drastic changes to the layout and functionality.  For now, you'll have to live with a bugfix and slight changes.  I'll likely switch between a couple of separate projects so I don't burn out on anything, which means you could see a separate release by me before the major updates to the palette helper. But I'm back in the seat.

Thank you to everyone!
